Que- In figure ABCD is a parallelogram DE is perpendicular to AB if AB equals to 25 cm AD equals to 17 cm and the area of the parallelogram is 200 cm² then calculate:

1. AE

2. EB

\boxed{\boxed{\huge{\bf{Solution}}}}

Area of parralelogram = base × height

Area of parralelogram ABCD = 25 × DE

200 = 25 × DE

DE = 8 cm

Applying pythagoras theorem in triangle ADE

Hypontenuse² = Base² + Perpendicular ²

17² = 8² + AE²

289 = 64 + AE²

AE² = 289 - 64 = 225

AE = √225 = 15 cm

EB = AB - AE = 25 - 15 = 10 cm
