Area of complete rectangle = L × B

= 100 × 80 = 8000 cm^2

in triangle EFG, base is : 80 - (10+10)

= 60 cm

dividing triangle in half, and by pyth.. theorem:

base becomes 30 cm, and :

H^2= P^2 + B^2

(50)^2 = P^2 + (30)^2

P = root.( 2500 - 900) = root(1600)

P = 40 ,which is height of triangle

Area of total triangle = 1/2 × B × H

= 1/2 × 60 × 40 = 1200 cm^2

Area of shaded region = A of rectangle - A of triangle = 8000 - 1200

= 6800 cm^2
