GIVEN THAT THE SEMI-CIRCLE IS DRAW WITH DIAMETER BC.

SINCE ITS GIVEN TO FIND THE SHADED REGION, THE SEMICIRCLE WILL BE INSIDE THE RECTANGLE.

METHOD TO SOLVE:

DIMENSIONS GIVEN=21 CM * 14 CM

==AREA OF THE RECTANGLE= B*H

21*14= 294 CM

TOTAL AREA OF THE RECTANGLE= 294 CM

==AREA OF THE SEMI-CIRCLE=1/2 PI R^2

RADIUS=DIMENSION ON THE SIDE BC

BC=14

RADIUS=HALF OF 14

RADIUS=7

1/2*22/7*7*7

AREA OF THE SHADED REGION= AREA OF RECTANGLE-AREA OF THE SEMI-CIRCLE
