QUESTION:

In figure, if AB is parallel to CD and EF is a transversal. Then, find x.

Given:

AB is parallel to CD

EF is a transversal

R.T.F:

x

SOLUTION:

(7x - 12) \degree + (4x + 17)\degree= 180 \degree (sum \: of \: interior \: angles \: are \: equal  \:  to \: 180 \degree) \\ 7x - 12 + 4x + 17 = 180 \degree  \\ 11x + 5 = 180\degree \\ x = \frac{ 175}{11} \\ x = 15.9 \degree

In the given figure,

(7x-12)° + (4x+17)° = 180° {Internal angles in the transversal}

→ 11x + 5° = 180° {Adding them}

→ 11x = 180-5

→ 11x = 175°

→ x = 175÷11

→ x = 15.9°

Thanks!!
