Solution:

Given,

angle 1= 85 degrees

angle 2 = ?

From the figure:

ange1 + angle3 = 180

85 + angle3 = 180

angle3 = 180 - 85

angle3 = 95

Now angle3 and angle2 are supplementary as they are interior angles on the same side of transversal so,

ange3 + angle2 = 180

95 + angle2 = 180

angle2 = 180 - 95

angle2 = 85
