The measure of angle ADB is 40°.

Explanation:

  • Angle subtended by an arc at the center is double the angle subtended by it any point on the remaining part of circle.              (1)

In the given figure , O is the centre of the circle and ∠ AOC =50 °and ∠ COB = 30 °

Arc AB is subtending combined angle at the center O

∠AOB= ∠ AOC+∠ COB= 50°+30° =80°

To find :  measure of ∠ ADB

From (1) ∠AOB = 2∠ ADB

\Rightarrow\ \angle{ADB}=\dfrac{1}{2}\angle{AOB}

\Rightarrow\ \angle{ADB}=\dfrac{1}{2}(80^{\circ})=40^{\circ}

hence , the measure of angle ADB = 40°
