Step-by-step explanation:

(a) The first one is a right angle . So :

\frac{x}{2} + \frac{x}{3} = 90°

\frac{3x+2x}{6} = 90°

\frac{5x}{6} = 90°

⇒ x = \frac{90*6}{5} = 108°

∴ ∠AOB = x/2 = 54°

∠BOC = x/3 = 36°

(b) The second one is a straight angle . So :

2x +\frac{x}{2} = 180°

\frac{4x + x}{2} = 180°

⇒  \frac{5x}{2} = 180°

⇒ x = \frac{180*2}{5} = 72°

∴ ∠AOB = 2x = 144°

∠BOC = x/2 = 36°
