Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Kali is three times older than his sister Angela

M = 3 A

in 1 year Kali will be twice as old as Angela.

M + 1 = 2(A + 1)

Replace M with 3A from top equation.

3A + 1 = 2(A + 1)

3A + 1 = 2A + 2

Collect like terms.

3A - 2A = 2 - 1

A = 1

Current ages:

Kali = 3 years old

Angela = 1 year old.

Hope this helps.

Answer:

Angela= 2

Khalil= 7

Step-by-step explanation:

Now

Khalil=x

Angela=x-5

Three years

Khalil=x+3

Angela=x-2

Five years

Khalil=x+5

Angela=x

Equation

2x-4=x+3

2x=x+7

x=7

Khalil=x (7)

Angela=x-5 (2)
