GIVEN:- ABCD is a rectangle.

E is the mid point on side AD

&F is the mid point on side DC

TO FIND :- length of EF

SOLUTION:- since,

DC=AB=12cm

And DF=1/2DC. ----(Given)

=> DF = 12/2 = 6 cm

Similarly,

DE = 2.5 cm

We know that each angle of rectangle is of 90°. Hence angleEDF= 90°

Now , in ∆DEF

(EF)²=(DF)²+(DE)²

=> EF²=(6)²+(2.5)²

=> EF²=36+6.25

=> EF²= 42.25

=> EF²=4225/100

=> EF=√4225/100

=> EF=65/10

=> EF=6.5cm
