In french when is it appropriate to use gerondif or participe present ? Please Answer ASAP !!

We often use relative clauses in English, but in French it’s more common to use the participe présent and the gérondif.
gérondif is used for:
to express condition
to express manner
to emphasize that two actions take place simultaneously.
