In general, voter turnout tends to be high in populations where "people are wealthier". This is shifted, however, especially with the election of Obama, which saw great youth voter turnout.

In general, voter turnout tends to be high amongst the population that has less formal education. These are people aged between 18 to 29 years. They are wealthier and from minority groups. Also, older people who are wealthier for they know the political people well and want to protect what they have.
