angle BCD and 80° are in linear pair

=> angle BCD + 80° = 180°

=> angle BCD = 100°

now, angle BCD = angle BAD (opposite angles of ||gm)

=> x = 100°

now, in ∆ABD

angle A + angle B + angle D = 180°

=> 40° + angle ABD + 100° = 180°

=> angle ABD = 40°

now, angle ADB = angle CBD (alternate interior angles)

=> z = 40°

and angle ABD = angle BDC (alternate interior angles)

=> y = 40°

hence,

  • x = 100°
  • y = 40°
  • z = 40°
