Answer:

area of square =10×10=100cmsq.

all sides of square are equal

then,ab=diameter=10

radius= 10÷2=5

area of circle=22÷7×5×5=78.57cmsq.

shaded part= 100-78.57=21.25cmsq.

The Area of Shaded part is 21.5 sq. cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

ABCD is a square of side 10 cm.

And a circle with centre O is inscribed in the square.

So, side of square = length of diameter of circle = 10 cm

Now, Area of square = side^2

Area of square =10^2=100\ cm^2

For calculating area firstly we will find out the radius 'r'.

r=\frac{diameter}{2}=\frac{10}{2}=5 cm

Area of circle = \pi r^2=3.14\times5^2=3.14\times25=78.5\ cm^2

Now area of shaded part is calculated by subtracting area of circle from area of square.

Framing in equation form, we get;

Area of Shaded part = Area of square - Area of circle

\textrm{Area of Shaded part}=100-78.5=21.5\ cm^2

Hence The Area of Shaded part is 21.5 sq. cm.
