Question:

In given figure, angle AOC= 130° . Find the value of x.

Given:

In the given cyclic quadrilateral ,

∠AOC = 130 °

To Find:

The value of x

Theorems Used:

  • Angles Opposite in a Cyclic Quadrilateral are supplementary.

  • Angles on a point are supplementary.

  • The corresponding angle to the exterior angle is equal to the exterior angle.

Solution:

Using Theorem 1 :

∠AOC + ∠CBO = 180 ( Angles Opposite in a Cyclic Quadrilateral are supplementary )

130 + ∠CBO = 180°

∠CBO = 180 - 130 = 50°

∠CBO = 50°

Using Theorem 2  :

∠CBO + x = 180°  (  Angles on a point are supplementary. )

50 + x = 180

x = 180 - 50

x = 130°

Proving by using theorem 3 :

∠AOC = x = 130° ( The corresponding angle to the exterior angle is equal to the exterior angle. )

Answer:

  • x = 130°
