Adsorption by means of chemical instead of physical forces; "chemisorption of gaseous nitrogen on iron catalysts". Generally when reaction is irreversible. So it breaks during chemisorption(adsorption in which the adsorbed substance is held by chemical bonds.). hence at adsorption of chemicals bonds of ammonia and iron surface weaken and break.

In Haber's process, bonds between ammonia and iron surface weaken and break during desorption .

Desorption is a process in which a substance is released from or through a surface.
