In hen, fertilization takes place interally but they lay eggs why​

Although hens reproduce using internal fertilization, they do not give birth to young ones this is because, just after fertilization, the zygote starts to divide and travels down the Oviduct. While travelling down it forms many protective layers around it which is the hard, protective shell around the hen's egg.
