Answer: It is mainly due to food-habit not only depends on the climate of a region, but also on the type of crops cultivated .

Explanation:

  • People in a region eat what they get. They will eat those crops that are cultivated.
  • Now,if two region have same kind of crops in abundance, then they will have them no-matter-what.
  • In Kerala and Himachal Pradesh, rice are in abundance. So the climate does not affect the food-habbit much.
  • Also, rice is a very common food in India overall. Thus,a cultural effect is also there.
  • Both the states have a decent number of rivers to have rice cultivated over generations, and hence rice has stayed an integral part of their food-habbit thereby.
