The number of ways can one pilot and two crew members be selected from a group of 8 pilot and 8 crew members

A: 224

EVALUATION

Here the total number of pilots = 8 & total number of crew members = 8

Now 1 pilot have to selected from 8 pilots. The number of ways in which this selection can be done

 \sf{ =  {}^{8}C_1 }

 = 8

Again 2 crew members have to selected from 8 crew members. The number of ways in which this selection can be done

 \sf{ =  {}^{8}C_2 }

 = 28

Hence the total number of ways

 = 28 \times 8

 = 224
