SOLUTION

GIVEN

A sum of Rs. 10000 yield the simple interest of Rs. 1600 at the rate of 8% per annum

TO DETERMINE

The number of years

EVALUATION

Here it is given that

Principal = P = 10000

Interest = I = 1600

Rate of interest = r % = 8 %

Time = T years =?

Now we are aware of the relationship that

 \displaystyle \sf{I =  \frac{PRT}{100} }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: 1600 =  \frac{10000 \times 8 \times T}{100} }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: T = \frac{1600 \times 100}{10000 \times 8}  }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: T = 2  }

Hence the required time = 2 years

Answer:

Given :-

  • A sum of Rs 10000 yield is in the simple interest of Rs 1600 at the rate of 8% per annum.

To Find :-

  • How many years.

Formula Used :-

To find time we know that,

\boxed{\bold{\large{T\: =\: \dfrac{S.I\: \times 100}{P\: \times R}}}}

where,

  • T = Time
  • S.I = Simple Interest
  • P = Principal
  • R = Rate of Interest

Solution :-

Given :

  • Principal (P) = Rs 10000
  • Simple Interest (S.I) = Rs 1600
  • Rate of Interest (R%) = 8%

According to the question by using the formula we get,

\sf T\: =\: \dfrac{1600 \times 100}{10000 \times 8}

\sf T\: =\: \dfrac{160000}{80000}

\sf T\: =\: \dfrac{\cancel{160000}}{\cancel{80000}}

\sf\red{T\: =\: 2\: years}

\therefore The number of years is 2 years .
