In oxidation of 1 atom of glucose 36+2=38 atoms of ATP are obtained.

Thus the net yield is two ATPs per glucose molecule. The remaining 34 molecules of ATP generated during the complete aerobic metabolism of glucose are synthesized during oxidation of pyruvate to CO2 and H2O in mitochondria.
