Answer:

Let principal be 100

Amount = 4/3 x 100 = 400/3

Interest = 400/3 - 100

= 400-300/3

= 100/3

I = (P x R x T) / 100

100/3 = (100 x 40 x T) / (3 x 100)

T = (100 x 3 x 100)/(3 x 100 x 40)

T = 2.5 yr

T = 2 yr 6 months

Hope it helps :)

Given data:

1.Sum of money would amount to 4/3

2. Rate- 13(1/3)%p.a

To find:- Time

Let us assume the Principal as 100

A=P+RT/100

A=P(1+RT/100)

4/3P=P(1+RT/100)

4/3=1+RT/100

4/3=100+RT/100

100+RT=4/3*100

40/3T=4/3*100-100

40T=100

T= 100/40=2.5years

Therefore 2years and 6months is required.
