The food particle are in the form of large globules . When they reach the small intestine , the bile juice present in the small intestine break this large globules into small globules which help in digestion.
The human alimentary canal starts from mouth and extends till anus.
The mouth serves the job of ingestion of food. It also grinds and makes food particles in swallowable form along with mixing them with saliva and converting good into bolus.
The food then passes through esopharyngeal cavity to esophagus or food pipe, which has several spinchter muscles to lead it to a J+shaped bag called the stomach and ensure that it is not reflexed back in normal conditions.

Then if passes to small intestine, which is actually the main site of digestion and absorption of food as the duodenum portion receives the secretions of liver and pancreas as well for the purpose.
