In human beings cellulose is digested by -

Cellulose is found in plants, and constitutes it's hardest part.

It can be digested by the enzyme cellulase, which is absent in humans. Hence, being indigestible for them.

Some animals can however digest the cellulose. This is possible because of presence of cellulose degrading microbes namely Cellulomonas present in gut of such animals.

These microbes produce cellulase enzyme which degrades cellulose, thus helping them digest plants.
