In human female reproductive system fusion of gametes occurs in Oviduct or fallopian tube.

Female reproductive system in humans, consists of uterus. Ovary forms eggs which passes through oviduct to uterus. On fertilization, it gets implanted there. In fallopian tubes, fertilization takes place specifically at ampulla region.

Sperm formed in male reproductive system fertilizes with ovum. Sterilisation in female humans is achieved by tubal ligation. In tubal ligation, either fallopian tube is tied or cut to inhibit meeting of sperm and ovum.

In the human female reproductive system fusion of sperm and ovum occurs in fallopian tubes.

  • In the human female reproductive system, Eggs are female gametes that are formed in the ovaries and released into the fallopian tubes.

  • Every month one matured egg is released from the ovaries which is called ovulation.

  • When the egg is released, it moves into the fallopian tubes where it stays for 24 hours to fertilize with the sperm.

  • In case, if the egg is not fertilized with the sperm then the egg breaks down and shed as menstrual flow.
