Explanation:

Well oh well mr.jeetgandhi. Germ cells are nothing but sperms and egg cells (oocytes). Germ cells divide by both mitosis and meiosis. In mitosis, diploid cells remain diploid whereas in meiosis, diploid cells become haploid. Hence germ cells are haploid and diploid respectively.
