In humans, Tallness (T) is dominant and shortness (t) is recessive. Mr x is homozygous tall marries miss Y .what are possible genotypes and phenotypes of their children's offsprings? Show even gamets diagram.

SillySam: what is the genotype of Mother
SillySam: so that I can solve
rashymoonga: Its just like that,so you have to assume for both homozygous or heterozygous scenarios.

so listen here the trait of miss Y is not mentioned .....but the genotype of Mr x is given so we can clearly say that all the offsprings wii have the T ...so the phenotype of all would be Tall obviously....so if miss Y is short then the genotypes of the offsprings would be Tt and if she is homozygous tall the offsprings would be TT and if she is heterozygous tall then the offsprings would be either TT or Tt

rashymoonga: Thanks
akshaykhannna1: wlcm dear..hope it helped

Genotype are the genetic characterization of an organisms. Phenotype is the expressed characteristics due to the genotype of that organisms. In the given case a the man is homozygous condition of TT and the woman is also heterozygous condition of Tt. Hence the offspring have a ratio of 1:2:1 of TT: Tt: tt ratio. This is the genotype. And the phenotypic ratio is 3:1 that means 3 tall and 1 short.
