In hydrogen atom, the electron is moving round
the nucleus with velocity 2.18x10°m/s in an
orbit of radius 0.528 Å. The acceleration of the
electron is :
(a) 9x1018 m/s?
(b) 9x1022 m/s2
(c) 9x10-22 m/s2
(d) 9 x102 m/s2

Answer:

We have

Velocity= 2.18*10^6 m/s

radius= 5.28*10^-11 m

Acc=?

Now we must know that this thing moves in orbit.. so it's circumference of orbit that counts as distance…

Distance= Circumference= 2πr

D= 3.31752*10^-10 m………… (just do direct calculation u will get it)

Velocity, V= D/T

so by that

T= D/V = 1.5218*10^-16 sec

Also we know that…

Acc= V/T

By considering the initial value that is,

Acc= 4.12878787*10^21 m/s/s ……..(or m/s2)
