In ICC(International cricket counci)lwhy there are only few countries?

Answer:
Explanation:
Historically Cricket was the sport invented by the British, who played it largely for entertainment a few centuries ago.
It was particularly popular among the British elite and the army folk. Since the army folk were ruling various countries overseas in the 19th and 20th century, they played it at the cantonments wherever they were posted. This way Cricket was largely popularized only among the British colonies (India, Pakistan, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand). Basically the game travelled with the colonial rule.
Since the British rule wasn't pre-dominant or strong or present at all in other countries Cricket never picked up elsewhere.
Also since you will be wondering, USA gained independence from the British in 1776 almost a 100 years before cricket became REALLY popular. Hence cricket never really caught on in the USA.
Other reasons:
1- In modern world, sporting matches tend to be short not more than 2 hours wheras even T20 cricket matches last 3 hours or more, hence audience in say Brazil would much rather watch a 90 minute football match than apply their mind onto a new sport.
2- Most countries already have popular sports which have a huge fan following like Europe has football, USA has Baseball, Basketball, Football, Ice Hockey, Japan has Baseball and Sumo Wrestling etc. Hence people will not really show interest in Cricket when they are born and brought up in such sporting environments. Moreover cricket is actually more complex to understand than football or hockey so it does tend to dissuade audience from watching the first time.
FUN FACT: In the 1900 Olympics, England and France competed against each other with the French team consisting mainly of English settlers.
