Tribal people are still not developed, so we need to support their method of agriculture i.e shifting cultivation. In shifting cultivation the anyways waste materials are only burnt and then the crops are sowed and harvested in some time. Since it is a forest ground, it can easily be replenished with nutrients. Thus, I support shifting cultivation.

Moreover Britishers banned shifting cultivation not because it caused soil erosion but because tribes did not have to pay tax for doing shifting cultivation.
