Answer:

False

Explanation:

In India states are reorganised on the basis of caste. - False

The 1956 State Reorganization Act was a significant reform of India's states and territories  organizing them along linguistic lines. While extra modifications have been made to India's government borders since 1956, the 1956 State Reorganization Act continues the single largest change in government borders since India's 1947 independence.

India consisted of 571 disjointed princely states at the time of independence in 1947, which were merged together to form 27 states.  In 1953, Andhra's first linguistic state for Telugu-speaking people was born and there were similar demands from other parts of the country for the establishment of states on a linguistic basis.

“In India states are reorganised on the basis of caste” is a FALSE statement.

EXPLANATION:

The ‘States in India’ are reorganised on the ‘basis of language’. The States Reorganisation Act 1956 was introduced to form boundaries for the state and territories in India on the basis of the languages.

During the ‘British Raj’, the Indian states were earlier all part of the Indian Union. In 1956 they were reorganised in their different sectors. The British did the reorganisation so that it was easy for them to handle their administration.
