Due to increase in population and due to technological revolution the various natural resources are being consumed at a very rapid rate. Overexploitation of natural resources like water is disturbing the environment in many ways.

1• Drastic Fall in water levels in some areas.

2• Drying up of natural water resources like wells / bore wells.

3• Reduced sea water level in coastal areas.

4. Deterioration in ground water quality.

Effects of deforestation:

1. Climate Imbalance: Deforestation also affects the climate in more than one ways.

2. Increase in Global Warming: Trees play a major role in controlling global warming.

3. Soil Erosion: Also due to the shade of trees the soil remains moist.

4. Floods: When it rains, trees absorb and store large amount of water with the help of their roots.

5. Wildlife extinction: Due to massive felling down of trees, various species of animals are lost.
