The president is the head of the state.

The Head of the STATE is the President under whose name all the International treaties and Agreements are signed.

He is not directly elected by the people.

He is Ranked the Highest in the order of precedence of officers.

He appoints the Prime Minister, the Council of Ministers, the CAG, the SC/HC judges, the Chief Election Comissioners, the Governors of States and some other heads. He can remove any minister or dissolve the Lok Sabha conditionally.
