In India, women have traditionally been accused of being great gossipmongers. The perceptions about girls being chatting all the time and housewives hanging out of their balconies to have a conversation with their neighboring female-folk firmly remains etched in perception of their male counterparts. Have we ever paused and questioned -what is the rationality behind such perception? Is there any evidence that establishes that because of their biological make-up, women have some sort of a larger tongue that makes them glib talker? A feminist perspective on this issue helps us observe that all such images are created without much logic or rationality and seem to have been founded in a biased and discriminating male thought process. Though such archetypes are hard to do away with, a growing understanding of science and human psychology seems to reflect a glimmer of hope across this dark tunnel of discrimination male thought process.
