Women political representation is very low in India because it is an established fact that the Indian women, inspire of the constitutional safeguards are still struggling for equality of status and equality of participation in the development process. In the suppression of women, male dominance has added to the problems. It can also be justified by this fact that out of the 543 MP's elected, Only 62 are women which means 89% are male members and just 11% are female members in the parliament.
