Pressure angle is function of tooth profile. For cycloid profile, pressure angle changes from tooth engagement to disengagement. But for involute profile it remains constant.

Pressure angle is an important parameter in design of gears.

Minimum number of tooth on gear/ pinion to avoid interference inversely depends upon pressure angle.

But due to limitations, pressure angle above 20 deg not common in practice
