in isosceles triangle if ab=ac=25 and bc=14.then what is the measure of altitude from a on bc

RajNand: AD=252−72−−−−−−−√AD25−7

=24

Let the radius be x

=> OD 24 - x

x2−(24−x)2=72x−)=7

=>x2−x2−576+48x=49=>x−x−

=>48x=625=>

=>x=62548

heyy...

by pathagoras theorem..

ac2 = bc2 + ad2
25^2 = 7^2 + ad2
625 = 49 + ad2
ad2 = 625 - 49
ad = under root 576
ad = 24

24 will be the length of ad , the altitude

hope it helps u...thanks...!!!

IN TRIANGLE ABC IF ALTITUDE FROM A IS DRAWN TO BC. THEN IN THE ISOSCELES TRIANGLE MEDIAN AND ALTITUDE COINCIDE.
THEREFORE D IS A POINT ON BC .BD=CD=7.
ACCORDING TO PYTHAGORAS THEROM,
AB^2=AD^2+BD^2
25×25= AD^2 +7×7
625=AD^2+49
625-49=AD^2
576=AD^2
AD=24.

AREA OF ABC= 1/2×14×24
= 168sq unit

HOPE THIS HELPS U
