As we know that isotopes are elements having the same atomic number but a different mass number.

They have the same chemical properties as the number of valence electrons are same.

For example

₆C¹²,  ₆C ¹³, ₆ C¹⁴  are the three isotopes of carbon. They have the same atomic number but different mass numbers due to difference in the number of neutrons.
