Hey there !

Solution:

Average of winning = Total Games won / Total Games played

In 60 matches, the team had won 30% of the matches.

=> Games won = 30 / 100 * 60

=> Games won = 0.3 * 60 = 18 games

So Initial Average = 18 / 60 * 100 = 3 / 10 * 100 = 30%

Now let the games won in the streak be x

=> Average = ( 18 + x / 60 + x ) * 100

=> 50 = ( 18 + x ) / ( 60 + x ) * 100

=> 50 ( 60 + x ) = ( 18 + x ) 100

=> 3000 + 50x = 1800 + 100x

=> 3000 - 1800 = 100x - 50x

=> 1200 = 50x

=> x = 1200 / 50 = 24

Hence the number of matches won is 24.

Hence option ( c ) is correct.

Hope my answer helped !

Hey there !

Solution:

In 60 matches, the team had won 30% of the matches.

=> Games won = 0.3 * 60 = 18 games

So Initial Average = 18 / 60 * 100 = 3 / 10 * 100 = 30%

Now let the games won in the streak be x

=> Average = ( 18 + x / 60 + x ) * 100

=> 50 = ( 18 + x ) / ( 60 + x ) * 100

=> 50 ( 60 + x ) = ( 18 + x ) 100

=> 3000 + 50x = 1800 + 100x

=> 3000 - 1800 = 100x - 50x

=> 1200 = 50x

=> x = 1200 / 50 = 24

Hence the number of matches won is 24.

Hence option ( c ) is correct.
