In laboratory,accidently a few drops of concentrated acid gets spill over the hand of a student.What should be done?

the hand should first be held in running water and then immediately antiseptic cream like an anti-burn lotion or cream should be applied on the effected surface.

If In laboratory,accidentally a few drops of concentrated acid gets spill over the hand of a student. Following can be done:

1. Acids are corrosive in nature like HCl, HNO3 and H2SO4
2.If it falls on hands by mistake, immediately wash the hands with plenty of water.
3.To neutralize the effect of acid, a mild base like sodium hydrogen carbonate can be applied on hands .
[Neutralization means reaction of acid and base which results in salt and water]
4. Hence the pain can be some what relief by applying mild base then for further treatment the patient can be shown to doctor.
