Answer:

the punishment given by the headmaster was unbearable. The insult that was meated out to him in front of his classmates may have been more painful to Swami than physical punishment from the headmaster. He felt there is no point in staying there anymore. He restrained the tears that were threatening to rush out jumped down and grasping his books rushed out muttering “ I don't care for your dirty school. ” Parents per apprehensive to see Swamy at home at that odd time. The anxious mother who seemed most worried was the first one to ask “ Swami , what happened ” . Father asked “ Why did you come home at this time. ” Ringed on the questions on Swami who is not in a disposition to address the enquiry. Swami give in when the persistence continued from his parents. He narrated the total episode. Mother was overcome with anguish when she witnessed the brutality on the little body. The tender skin was filled with scars from the cane. She was furious at the headmaster. “Whatever the fault of the child may be but this is not the way to punish the child ” said the mother to the father. He was at first felt that it was improper but later he thought if the rod is pared the child may be spoiled. So he did neither cundem the headmaster outrightly nor did he support the behaviour of Swami. He was trying to straight balance from inculcating moral values and being affectionate to his child. Expressing sadness over what had happened , father said to Swami “ You must go to school whatever happens. ” and added “ I will speak with the headmaster about this and tell him to bring to my notice if anything happens. ” But Swami was relectant to go back to that school. Father misunderstood at first thinking he never wanted to go to school at all. But was releaved when Swami said he would join some other school.
