Chromosomes are formed of protein and nucleic acids and are very essential for carrying the genes of humans to their off-springs.

It is the DNA molecule which stores all the genome of an individual. In humans, they are also of two types.

The XX chromosomes signify a girl child and the XY Chromosomes signify a male child.

Hence, we can say that Y is the chromosome is the solely responsible chromosome for maleness.
