Because it involved the use of HYV seeds which requires a combination of chemical fertilizers, irrigation, and modern farming methods due to which more capital is required... <br /><br />Continous use of chemical fertilizers made the soil less fertile.. <br /><br />Continous irrigation from tubewells etc had lessened the water below the ground...<br /><br />Natural resources like soil fertility and ground water are built up over many years.. <br /><br /> So, i totally agree with the given statement...
