In many countries, women were not given the right to vote? Why do you think it so?

The women did not contribute to war efforts and they also did not pay taxes, therefore they did not have the right to pay.

Universal suffrage is an important but recent concept because in olden time people who contributed economically or through blood participated in elections.

Later on the women were allowed to vote and it resulted in a political breakthrough.
