In many situations, friction forces tend to reduce the kinetic energy of an object; however, friction forces can sometimes increase an object’s kinetic energy. Describe a situation in which friction causes and increase in kinetic energy.

friction is important for moving of vehicles otherwise wheels will be spinning at the same place. so in this case friction increases the kinetic energy.
