Rajputs live in many North Indian states like Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand, uttar pradesh, Rajasthan ,Madhya Pradesh etc. They were rulers in these states. In uttarakhand the situation is slightly different before Rajputs came there the area was inhabited by Khas people. The Rajputs invaded them and started ruling them. As the time passed came the British they divided the whole uttarakhand into mainly three parts.1- British garhwal = present day pauri and chamoli district. 2- Tehri princely state= present day Tehri ,uttarkashi and parts of hrishikesh.3- kumaon which was made a commissioner's province. Tehri at that time was ruled by Parmara rulers. They still rule Tehri but democratically through parliamentary elections lollol. The castes you mentioned here are khas castes. There are about 15 types of rawats and negi. They mostly marry with each other. A Rajput never marry in same caste. However there are some real Rajput people and castes like paramaras, chauhans, ranawat, rathore, sajwan, tomar, ramola, rauthan etc.. They never marry in the same caste of theirs. The castes you mentioned above call themselves Rajputs to uplift there social status or maybe there parents never told them the truth. But I think chands were rulers in kumaon region before British came
