In Microsoft Word, when you highlight existing text you want to replace, you are in overtype or type-over mode.
You can also find it as replace tool of Microsoft word and you can type in all the exact phrases or words on the same portions and replace them by a single click.
But you cannot find such applications in older versions of Microsoft word.
