a.mixtures are different frm compounds in the following ways:
1. in mixture, elements or compounds just mix together to form a mixture and no new compound is formed.but new formation of substance occurs in compound.
2. a mixture shows the properties of the constituent particles.but the new substace which will be formed does not have any characteristics of the constiuent particles.
3. the constituent particles of mixture can be separated easily by physical methods like filtration.but the constituent particles of compound cannot be separated by physical methods and they can be separated by electrochemical reaction.
b.the types of mixture are homogeneous, heterogeneous.
c . 1.homogeneous-a mixture of sugar and water.
2.heterogeneous-a mixture of sand or stone with water.
