In modern democracy, Powers are shared mainly in two forms..
1- Horizontal Power Sharing
2- Vertical Power Sharing
In horizontal power sharing, power is shared among different organs of the government such as Executive, Legislature and Judiciary which work at the same level.
In vertical power sharing, power is shared at different levels of the government such as Central govt. which works at central level, Union govt. which works at provincial level, State govt. works at state level and the local govt. which works at the district levels..
Power is also shared among different social groups which is also known as Community Govt. ..
Power is also shared among different political parties , pressure groups and movements..
