In modern periodic table , the isotopes of chlorine Cl-35 and Cl-37 having different atomic masses will be kept in different slots or they would be assigned same position on the basis of their chemical properties? Give reason in supports of your answer ?

In the Modern periodic table,elements are arranged on the basis of atomic numbers and similar properties.

•Isotopes:

The chemical entities which have same atomic number but different atomic masses,are known as Isotopes.

Both Cl35 and Cl37 have same atomic number,17. A number occupies only one slot.

Conclusion:

Both Cl35 and Cl37 would be placed in same period or position
