2. The "walls" in this quote is a metaphor for a person to be socially and mentally closed-off, or it could also be called a "comfort zone". Due to the limited space that you "built" or gave yourself, you don't get to enjoy anything at all.
3. In my understanding, "Dignity of Labour" is about how hard work is worth every ounce of respect.
